The Art Piece - Kombucha

Commissioned by Microarte in Buenos Aires, my art project Kombucha aimed to bridge the gap between people and visual art by creating an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Through the use of bacterial cellulose from Kombucha, I transformed online conversations, particularly those found on Instagram and WhatsApp, into tangible artistic pieces.

Material Ecology - Storytelling

he project explored the often-masked complexities of human emotions, challenging the surface-level "todo bien" ("You good?") that we frequently present to the world. Through a curated series of visual dialogues, I aimed to visually represent the inner thoughts and emotions of participants, fostering a sense of vulnerability and transparency.

My creative process involved a blend of mixed media, including bacterial cellulose, collage, video, and photography. I used layers, color, and innovative techniques to translate the essence of these conversations into tangible art. Each art piece became a visual record of a curated conversation, capturing the nuanced exchange between myself and the individual.

The project was presented at two art shows, with the second occurring within Microarte's theatrical exhibition exploring the theme of contrast. During the presentation, participants witnessed their responses on a screen and heard my reflections on the power of art to reveal our true selves. Kombucha successfully elicited emotional responses, prompting tears and a deeper sense of connection among viewers. This project demonstrates my ability to bridge the gap between art and real-life experiences, fostering meaningful connections and revealing the power of art to evoke genuine emotions.
